Job: HR and Training Manager 

Perennial Landscapes is a busy, growing, commercial, landscape contractor. We are recruiting a skilled, experienced and qualified HR and Training manager. Who is looking for a fresh opportunity, to work in a part time and flexible role.

Overview:

Standalone role responsible for providing an effective human resources and service to the business, in addition supporting the company Health & Safety Policies, managing the training of staff and company procedures.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

  • Handle employment relations issues including grievances, disciplinaries, absence and employee welfare.

  • Develop and maintain training records for all staff, to enhance and encourage career development and progression.

  • Maintain employee records including contracts, absence, formal meetings and leaver documentation.

  • Maintain records & organise training to ensure both the business is fully H&S compliant and employees achieve their own personal objectives.

  • Update and develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and consistency across all functions.

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to Directors, managers, and employees regarding all people related matters.

  • Ensure continuous GDPR compliance.

  • Work closely with the management team to design and deliver training to the business, including coaching and supporting managers to ensure good practice across the whole employment life cycle.

  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and integrity

  • Excellent communication skills, able to listen and effectively verbalise ideas

  • Evidence of implementing robust HR policies, procedures and systems

  • Solid ethics, morals and sound judgement

  • Ability to work independently and resourcefully under own motivation

  • A proactive team player

  • Calm and organised, able to deal with challenging situations

  • Good attention to detail

  • Excellent time-management skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in MS Office with an aptitude to learn new software and systems

Education & Qualifications

  • 5+ GCSE’s level 4 or above including English and Maths

  • CIPD Level 5 desirable or equivalent QBE

  • 5+ years HR experience

Working hours: Flexible days. Hours are to be worked between 7am and 5pm to suit the needs of the business.
